Antique 19 century or early Red Laquer Burmese Lacquer Offering Bowl. (Very Rare Extra Large).
Probably made from Elm wood.
Measurements: Height 66 , Diameter 45cm
This example is beautifully lacquered in the traditional red lacquer made using the pigment from cinnabar. Offering bowl comprises a wide curved bowl set on a waisted pedestal flaring out to a circular foot-ring.
Rice, fruit and other foods were placed in the bowl.
Bowl Has little imperfections-all on the photos. They are not noticeable at all when bowl is just for decoration.
